The story
Tidus is the young star of the Zanarkand Abes when a Sin attack destroys his city and hurls him into the world of Spira. Found in Besaid after an inexplicable ordeal, he becomes one of Yuna's guardians and accompanies her on her pilgrimage. His energy and rejection of sacrificial traditions contrast sharply with the resignation surrounding the summoner. As their journey unfolds, he grows closer to her and learns that his father, Jecht, has become the heart of the Sin they must confront.
As they approach Zanarkand, Tidus discovers that his home city is a dream nurtured by the Fayth and that his own existence is bound to this dream. With Yuna and their companions, he refuses the sacrifice of the Final Summoning, overturns the precepts of Yevon, and destroys Yu Yevon to break the cycle of Sin forever. When the Fayth finally cease dreaming, Tidus disappears after bidding farewell to Yuna, accepting his destiny to offer a new future to Spira.
