About
The story
The Skeleton Lurker appears before Guts a year before the Eclipse to warn him of the catastrophe foretold by Griffith's scarlet behelit. When the sacrifice begins, he forces his way into the heart of the ritual and rescues Guts and Casca from the slaughter. An ancient enemy of the Hand of God and a frequent rival of Zodd, he subsequently appears at moments when causality seems to condemn the Black Warrior.
His armor, inhuman body, and knowledge of the astral and physical worlds attest to a very ancient existence, though his past identity is not explicitly confirmed. He consumes the behelits taken from the Apostles to reforge his sword into the Resonating Blade, capable of opening passages between dimensions. Linked to Flora and a former wearer of the Berserker Armor, he advises Guts while continuing his own war against the Hand of God.
