The story
Shuichi Akai is an FBI agent with exceptional marksmanship, combat, and deductive skills. He once infiltrated the Black Organization under the name Rye and became close to Akemi Miyano using the alias Dai Moroboshi. When his cover is blown, he nevertheless continues his fight against the criminal group, which sees him as a threat capable of bringing about its downfall.
Akai eventually allies himself with Conan and participates with him in an operation designed to deceive the Organization. His death is staged with Kir's help, and he then adopts the appearance of the young researcher Subaru Okiya in order to operate clandestinely. Installed in the Kudo house, he protects Ai Haibara while monitoring enemy movements. Behind his austere calm, his determination remains tied to the loved ones he couldn't save.
