About
The story
Fascinated by the "Little Giant" of Karasuno, whom he saw on television, Shoyo Hinata dreams of shining in volleyball despite his small stature. In middle school, he forms his own team and plays his first official match against Tobio Kageyama, who inflicts a crushing defeat upon him. Determined to get his revenge, Hinata enters Karasuno High School, only to discover that Kageyama is now his teammate. His speed and jumping ability, combined with Kageyama's extremely precise passes, give rise to an extraordinary, rapid attack.
Used as a middle blocker and decoy, Hinata progresses through the qualifying rounds, training camps, and matches against Aoba Josai, Shiratorizawa, and then the teams in the national championships. He learns to observe the court, to receive the ball, and to no longer rely on a single attack. After high school, he goes to Brazil to train in beach volleyball before returning to Japan. Recruited by the MSBY Black Jackals, he faces Kageyama among his opponents and ultimately continues his journey with the Japanese national team.
