The story
After the death of their parents, Shinobu Kocho joined the Demon Slayer Corps with her older sister, Kanae. When Kanae was mortally wounded by Doma, Shinobu rekindled her ideal of possible coexistence between humans and demons, all the while harboring a hatred she concealed behind a smile. Unable to sever a demon's throat by force, she created Insect Breath and fought with a blade designed to inject glycine poison.
Having become a Pillar of the Insect, she leads the Butterfly Domain, heals the demon slayers, and trains Kanao Tsuyuri. Aware that Doma would withstand an ordinary dose, Shinobu gradually infuses her own body with poison to prepare for their confrontation. In the Dimensional Fortress, she allows herself to be absorbed after a fierce battle; the poison then weakens Upper Moon Two, allowing Kanao and Inosuke to finish her off.
