About
The story
A former apprentice of Gol D. Roger's crew alongside Baggy, Shanks later founded his own crew. Settling for a time near Fuchsia Village, he met Luffy and instilled in him his love of freedom. He sacrificed an arm to save the child, then entrusted him with the straw hat he had received from Roger.
Having become one of the Four Emperors, Shanks maintains a unique balance between the great powers. He warns Whitebeard of the danger posed by Blackbeard and ends the Marineford War with his single intervention. After Wano, he announces to his crew that it is time to set out to conquer One Piece.
