About
The story
A prodigy who left for Spain at a very young age, Sae Itoshi developed in Real Sociedad's youth academy and was among the best young players of his generation. Returning to Japan after giving up on becoming the best striker to aim for the top spot in midfield, he shattered the dream he shared with his brother Rin. Convinced that Japanese football cannot produce the center-forward he seeks, he considers pursuing his career away from the national team.
However, the existence of the Blue Lock project piques his interest. For the match between the Japanese U-20 team and Blue Lock Eleven, Sae agrees to join the national team on the condition that Ryusei Shido leads their attack. His passing, technique, and mastery of the game's rhythm dominate for much of the match. After Blue Lock's victory, he recognizes in Yoichi Isagi the player capable of transforming Japanese football, further fueling his rivalry with Rin.
