The story
Trained since childhood by his father Genma at the Saotome School of All-Tier Martial Arts, Ranma travels across China before falling into the spring of the drowned girl in Jusenkyo. Cold water now transforms him into a girl, and hot water restores his male body. Upon their return to Japan, Genma invokes an old promise made to Soun Tendo: Ranma must marry one of his daughters and inherit the family dojo. Akane is chosen, but their explosive personalities make for a turbulent cohabitation.
At Furinkan High School and the Tendo Dojo, Ranma faces off against Tatewaki Kuno, Ryoga Hibiki, Shampoo, Mousse, and numerous specialists in unusual martial arts. He constantly seeks a way to lift his curse, while rivalries and arranged matches complicate his every endeavor. Despite their incessant bickering, Ranma and Akane protect each other in the most dangerous situations and gradually reveal a bond they struggle to openly acknowledge.
