About
The story
Son of Gol D. Roger and Portgas D. Rouge, Ace grew up under Garp's protection and shared his childhood with Luffy and Sabo. The three became brothers by exchanging cups of sake. Setting sail before Luffy, Ace founded the Spade Pirates and later joined Whitebeard's crew.
Having become commander of the second division, he pursued Blackbeard after the murder of a crewmate. His defeat led to his capture and public execution at Marineford. Freed by Luffy and his allies, Ace sacrificed himself to protect his brother, Akainu, after realizing he had finally found the family he had been searching for.
