The story
Ken Takakura, nicknamed Okarun by Momo Ayase, is a lonely high school student obsessed with aliens. After Momo defends him from his classmates, their opposing beliefs lead them to make a bet: she goes to investigate the existence of aliens, while he goes to a supposedly haunted tunnel. There, he encounters Turbo Granny, who curses him and possesses his body.
Momo manages to contain the curse, allowing Okarun to use some of the yokai's speed and power. Once Turbo Granny is defeated, he retains his powers but must recover the attributes she stole from him. Through battles against spirits and aliens, he overcomes his insecurity, perfects his cursed form, and becomes a determined protector. His bond with Momo gradually transforms into romantic feelings.
