The story
Leorio Paradinight initially claims to want to become a Hunter for the money and privileges that come with the license. However, he reveals that his true goal is to finance his medical studies: as a child, he lost a friend he could have saved if the necessary care had been available. During the Hunter Exam, his impulsive temperament often puts him at odds with Kurapika, but his loyalty to Gon, Killua, and their companions quickly prevails. After passing the exam, he joins the journey to the Zoldyck estate to bring Killua back.
Leorio then chose to focus primarily on his studies, while still reconnecting with his friends when the situation demanded it. During the election for the new Hunter Association chairman, he remotely strikes Ging with a Nen blast to denounce his absence to the hospitalized Gon. This sincere gesture earns him unexpected support and places him among the most popular candidates. Invited to join the Zodiacs under the title of Boar, Leorio ultimately joins the medical team tasked with the expedition to the Dark Continent.
