About
The story
A first-year middle blocker at Karasuno, Kei Tsukishima initially approaches volleyball with a certain detachment. Having admired his older brother Akiteru during his childhood, he was disillusioned to discover that Akiteru had kept his reserve position a secret from him in high school. Tsukishima therefore refuses to get carried away by what he considers a mere club activity. His intelligence, observational skills, and height, however, make him an essential part of Karasuno's defensive system, even if his attitude regularly provokes Hinata and Kageyama.
During the Tokyo training camp, the advice of Tetsuro Kuroo, Kotaro Bokuto, and Keiji Akaashi, along with Tadashi Yamaguchi's determination, motivates him to dedicate himself more fully. In the final against Shiratorizawa, Tsukishima blocks an attack by Wakatoshi Ushijima and finally experiences the moment that transforms his relationship with volleyball. He then contributes to Karasuno's run at the national championships. As an adult, he works at the Sendai Museum while continuing to play as a middle blocker for the Sendai Frogs.
