About
The story
Since childhood, Ichigo has been able to see spirits and carries the guilt of his mother Masaki's death. His encounter with Rukia changes his life forever: to defend his family against a Hollow, he receives her Shinigami powers and assumes the role of Substitute, tasked with protecting the souls of Karakura Town.
When Rukia is condemned, Ichigo invades the Soul Society and gradually earns the trust of his former adversaries. He then faces Aizen, the Fullbringers, and finally the Wandenreich. The revelation of his origins, a blend of Shinigami, Hollow, and Quincy, finally allows him to understand Zangetsu and reforge his blades to fight Yhwach.
