The story
Son of the Fourth Kazekage, Gaara was given Shukaku before his birth to become a weapon for Suna. Rejected and targeted by assassination attempts ordered by his father, he eventually had to rely only on himself. His sand protects him automatically, while his anger fuels uncontrolled violence.
His defeat at the hands of Naruto during the attack on Konoha revealed to him that strength can also be born from the desire to protect others. Gaara then earned the trust of his village and became the Fifth Kazekage. Captured by the Akatsuki and later resurrected thanks to Chiyo's sacrifice, he subsequently led a division of the Allied Shinobi Forces.
