The story
A member of the Tantalus Pirates band of thieves led by Baku, Zidane participates in a performance in Alexandria to kidnap Princess Garnet. Since she already wants to flee the kingdom, the mission becomes the starting point of a journey across Gaia. Spontaneous, seductive, and always ready to help, Zidane protects Garnet and gathers companions around him, determined to stop Queen Brahni, and then Kuja, whose manipulations plunge the nations into war.
On Terra, Zidane learns that Garland created him as a Genome to become the Angel of Death destined to replace Kuja. Jealous, he had abandoned him on Gaia, where Baku took him in and raised him. Broken by this revelation in Pandemonium, Zidane regains his strength thanks to the friends he himself had supported. He then fights Kuja and Darkness to preserve Gaia's existence, before returning to the Ifa Tree to try and save his enemy. Presumed lost, he finally returns to Alexandria and reunites with Garnet.
