The story
Aura the Guillotine is one of the Seven Sages of Destruction, placed directly under the command of the Demon King. Over eighty years ago, she confronted Himmel's group with her troops, then disappeared after her master's downfall. She returns decades later at the head of an army of decapitated warriors and threatens Count Granat's domain. Her emissaries claim to be negotiating peace, while she is actually preparing to retake the city.
Her magic, Auserlese, the Scales of Obedience, compares her mana to that of her opponent. The weaker soul is then subjugated forever, allowing Aura to transform her victims into soldiers. Convinced that her five centuries of power guarantee her victory, she places her soul and that of Frieren on the scales. Unbeknownst to her, the elf has been concealing his mana for centuries: the scales tip in favor of Frieren, who orders Aura to end his own life.
