About
The story
Asuka Langley Shikinami is a fourteen-year-old German pilot, a captain in the European Air Force and the assigned pilot of Evangelion Unit 02. Sent to Japan, she immediately makes her mark with her confidence, talent, and refusal to depend on others. Living with Shinji at Misato's house creates a constant rivalry, but also an attachment she struggles to express.
During the Unit 03 test, contaminated by the Ninth Angel, Asuka is severely injured and quarantined. Fourteen years later, the Eva curse has prevented her body from aging. Now a member of Wille, she resumes the fight against Nerv, leading Unit 02 and often working alongside Mari. Behind her aggression lies a deep need for recognition, which she finally confronts during the final battle.
