About
The story
As a child, Aki Hayakawa witnessed his family's disappearance during the Gun Demon's attack. He joined Public Security with the intention of killing the Demon and became partnered with Himeno, who unsuccessfully tried to dissuade him from a near-suicidal quest for revenge. Serious and disciplined, Aki successively used the powers he obtained from the Fox, Curse, and Future Demons, each contract imposing a price.
Tasked with housing Denji and then Power, Aki initially struggles with their behavior before growing attached to them as if they were a new family. The death of Himeno and the battles of the Fourth Section strengthen his desire to protect them. When he learns that his own death and that of Power are imminent, he even abandons his quest for revenge. He is nevertheless killed during the confrontation between Makima and the Gun Demon; his possessed body becomes the Gun Fiend, whom Denji must defeat while Aki imagines one last snowball fight.
