The story
The youngest of Soun Tendo's three daughters, Akane trains in the family dojo and attends Furinkan High School, where her strength and temperament allow her to fend off the boys who try to beat her every morning to get a date. When Ranma and Genma arrive at the Tendo residence, their fathers designate her as Ranma's fiancée to ensure the continuation of their martial arts school. Akane immediately discovers Ranma's curse, but their shared pride turns every interaction into an argument.
Courted by Tatewaki Kuno and secretly loved by Ryoga, Akane must also contend with Ranma's other suitors, notably Shampoo and Ukyo. While she can be jealous and quick to lash out when provoked, she is above all courageous, loyal, and ready to fight for her loved ones. Throughout their adventures, she and Ranma save each other on numerous occasions; their feelings become obvious to those around them, even if they remain unable to simply confess them to one another.
